PURPOSE: To provide the title equipment requiring no wastewater treatment leading to easier maintenance and to reduced cost, by adding to a fuel oil a water-absorbing and conbustible additive to eliminate the salts in said oil.
CONSTITUTION: The present invention relates to a novel desalting equipment which works as follows: A fuel oil 27 is mixed in the mixer 25, with clean water and an additive 28 to produce a mixed oil 26, which is then introduced into an electrostatically desalting bath 21; where the additive and water droplets containing the salts present in said mixed oil 26 are agitated and mixed by the electrostatic force, and said water droplets are thus selectively adsorbed into the additive 28. The resulting salt-contg. additive 28 applies a negative high voltage to the high-voltage electrodes 23, and at the same time, is deposited on the grounded electrode 22. The additive 28 thus deposited is transferred to the bottom of the bath 21 by vibrating the electrode 22, being taken out through the bottom as a slat-contg. additive 30, which is then sent through a bath 31 to a conbustor 32, being subjected to incineration.
