Abstract:
PURPOSE:To upgrade the insulation characteristics of a monolithic piezoelectric element by removing metallic components which easily migrate from all types of the conductive material of the monolithic electrostriction element such as internal electrodes, external electrodes, leads, solder, etc., and by protecting insulation resistance from being degraded by the moisture content which infiltrates into the sides of the element. CONSTITUTION:When conductive sections of internal electrodes 3 and 4, external electrodes 5, leads 8, solder 7, etc., of a monolithic electrostriction element are made of a type of material which hardly migrates, migration due to moisture can be prevented, and particularly the types of material for leads 8 and solder 7 are specified in detail. With this, the degradation of the insulation of the element under a heavy moisture environment can be considerably reduced, remarkably improving the reliability of the element.
