Title:
ELECTROTHERMAL PRINTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02178092
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently melt a colorant layer by providing an ink sheet having a superconductive layer and an electrode needle changed with a current having current density equal to or more than the critical current density of the superconductive layer on the colorant layer.

CONSTITUTION: When an electrode needle 6 is changed with a current having current density equal to or more than the critical current density of a superconductive layer 7 is, the superconductive state of the superconductive layer 7 under the electrode needle is broken and electric resistance becomes large to generate heat. A colorant layer 8 is melted by this heat to be transferred. Since a current 10 uniformly spreads to the superconductive layer 7 in the periphery of the electrode needle, the superconductive state of the part other than the part under the electrode needle of the superconductive layer 7 is kept and a current flows to an earth part 9 without generating unnecessary heat.
