Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an electroviscors fluid composition which can be produced at a low cost, undergoes a large viscosity change upon application of an electric field even when the current density is low, and is excellent especially in dispersion stability and fluidity when no electric field is applied thereto.
CONSTITUTION: Dielectric particles 3 are dispersed as a dispersed phase into an electrical insulating oil 4 as a dispersion medium, the particles 3 being a carbon black graft polymer obtained by chemically bonding polymer chains 2 to conductive carbon black particles 1 through grafting.
