To provide a particle rotation type display which can be made flexible and whose display quality is improved by manufacturing dichroic particles which is not swelled by oil, stable even in a step wherein physical force such as dispersion/emulsification is applied and suitable for encapsulation, performing encapsulation of the dichroic particles to form microcapsules and forming a sheet of the microcapsules together with a binder.

A first colored liquid droplet and a second liquid droplet having a color different from the color of the first liquid droplet are brought into contact with each other in air or liquid to form one liquid droplet and the one liquid droplet is brought into contact with a reaction liquid and instantaneously solidified to obtain a dichroic particle. An element for display is characterized in that the dichroic particle and an insulating oil are encapsulated in a microcapsule. One dichroic particle may be encapsulated in one microcapsule or two or more dichroic particles may be encapsulated in one microcapsule.
