PURPOSE: To provide a reliable elevator car door lock device which prevents the deformation of an operating shaft even if a cage door is going to be forcibly opened intentionally from inside with a force stronger than a specified mangitude and allows unlocking for specified floors.
CONSTITUTION: A second engagement member 8 is removably installed onto the operating shaft 12 of an electromagnetic device 9 fixed to a door frame 10 while a first engagement member 11 is fixed to a car door 2 via a hanger 4 in a position opposed to the second engagement member in closed door state so that, during traveling, the electromagnetic device 9 can be excited to drive the operating shaft 12 against the force of a return spring 14 to engage the second engagement member 8 with the first engagement member 11. The rigidity of the second engagement member 8 is made smaller than that of the operating shaft 12 so as to prevent its sticking caused by the deformation of the operating shaft 12 when a cage door is going to be forcibly opened from inside with a force stronger than a specified magnitude.
