PURPOSE: To provide the elevating lighting fixture where the rack thereof can be held at the upper position of a pole without causing any damage to the outside of the pole even under a strong wind, and the rack is free from danger of falling to the ground, even if a wire is broken.

CONSTITUTION: A hollow pole 11 is erected. A rack 12 so laid as to surround the pole 11 for supporting a lighting fixture 24, and the pole side end of fittings so fixed on the rack 12 as to face the pole 11 are in slidable contact with the outside of the pole 11. In addition, a cylinder 14 comprising a cylinder body and a piston rod, and a wire for lifting and elevating the rack 12 with one end connected to the rack 12 and the other end connected to a hoist 26 through the pole 11 via the upper end thereof, are provided.
