To obtain an elevator car illumination device which can prevent a fall and damage.
A car illumination device 8 comprises an illumination unit 11 for performing illumination in a car 1, and a support device 12 attached to a ceiling panel 3b and supporting the illumination unit 11. The illumination unit 11 is displaceable between an opened remote position separated downwardly from the ceiling panel 3b of the car 1 and a normal position near the ceiling panel 3b more than the opened remote position. The support device 12 has a support spring 43 which generates an elasticity restoration force which withstands the displacement of the illumination unit 11 to the opened remote position. Furthermore, the support device 12 supports the illumination unit 11 so as to be displaceable between the opened remote position and the normal position.
