Title:
ELEVATOR DRIVE MACHINE DISPOSED IN COUNTERWEIGHT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3426352
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide new structure dissolving the defects of an elevator motor by disposing an elevator driving motor in a counterweight.
CONSTITUTION: A rotating elevator motor 6 provided with a traction sheave 18 is disposed in a counterweight 26 of an elevator suspended by ropes 2. In this structure, a gear is not necessarily needed because this structure and arrangement of the motor 6 allows the use of a motor with a large diameter and high torque. Since the length of the motor remains short, the motor and counterweight can be accommodated in a space normally reserved for a counterweight in a hoistway. A motor shaft lies in the counterweight 26 substantially midway between guide rails 8. The number of ropes is equal on both sides of a plane passing through the center of the guide rails 8.
