An elevator monitoring device 5 having an interphone slave device 3 for communication with a control center in an elevator car and a sound guidance output device 105 which generates and outputs the synthesized sound includes an interphone side voltage measuring instrument 102 for measuring the output voltage to a speaker 110 of the interphone slave device 3 during the communication with the control center, a RAM 103 for storing the output voltage measured by the interphone side voltage measuring instrument 102, a volume regulator 106 for regulating the volume of the synthesized sound generated by the sound guidance output device 105, and a CPU 104 for regulating the volume regulator 106 so that the output voltage when connecting the sound guidance output device 105 to the speaker 110 is matched with the output voltage stored in the RAM 103.
