Abstract:
To provide an elevator monitoring system and an elevator monitoring method for remotely recognizing a hooked state when a long article in an elevator is hooked with a device or a component in a hoistway.SOLUTION: This elevator monitoring system according to the embodiment comprises: a plurality of elevators; and a central control device that is connected to the elevators. Each elevator has a photographing device installed outside a car or on a balance weight so as to photograph an adjacent elevator. The central control device comprises a hooking detection unit that detects hooking of a long article in a given elevator with a device or a component in a hoistway on the basis of the operation state information of the elevators, and a photographing instruction unit that transmits photographing instruction information for photographing the elevator where the hooking of the long article has been detected by the photographing device while causing the car to travel at a low speed to the elevator adjacent to the elevator where the hooking has been detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
