PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of an elevator for sluice gate by a method in which a manual handle is fixed to the basal end, a prime mover shaft is pivotally and sladably supported, and a drive shaft is connected with a clutch for vertically moving the sluice gate by forming screws fittable to the multiple thread screws of the prime mover shaft.

CONSTITUTION: A frictional face 13a to be contacted with or separated from a ratchet wheel 14 is formed on the tip of a prime mover shaft 13 whose basal end is fixed with a manual handle 3, and a multiple thread screw 13b is pivotally and slidably supported near the opening of the face 13a. An intermediate shaft 17 with a multiple thread screw 17a on the portion to be coupled with the female screw 13b is combined on the tip in a freely turnable and slidable manner by the bearing 19 of the drive side claw clutch 21. The clutch 18 is connected to the drive shaft 6 to transmit rotation force by engaging and separation with the basal end of the drive clutch 18 located on the tip face of the prime mover side clutch 21. Exact position can thus be easily determined with high safety.
