To provide an elevator system capable of conducting group supervisory operation control of more operation efficiency by reducing stop of elevator cars for avoiding collision, and a control method thereof.
In this elevator system comprising plural cars charged in one shaft, a landing pushbutton 1A for registering a destination floor by which the destination floor is inputted is provided, an intermediate position at a desired time before a desired car reaches the destination floor inputted by the landing pushbutton 1A and an intermediate position of another car in the same shaft at the desired time are operated, it is predicted if the desired car and another car in the shaft collide with each other at the intermediate position at the time or not, and the car to be operated to the destination car is allotted based on above prediction.
