A cage hoisting and lowering section 3 is provided in the central section of a building 1, and shelves 25, which can house a teeth-of-comb-shaped pallet 20, are provided in multiple steps in right and left positions except a first floor section. A lift cage 32, which enables the delivery and reception of the pallet 20, is ascendably/descendably provided in the hoisting and lowering section 3. An entrance-and-exit berth 36, which is equipped with belt conveyors 37a and 37b reaching the hoisting and lowering section 3, is provided on one side of the first floor section of the building. A vehicle transfer device 40, which transfers the vehicle 5 between the belt conveyors 37a and 37b and the pallet 20 mounted on the lift cage 32, is provided in a pit 39 at the lower end of the hoisting and lowering section 3. After being conveyed by the belt conveyors 37a and 37b, the vehicle 5, which gets into the berth 33, is transferred onto the pallet 20, mounted on the lift cage 32, via the vehicle transfer device 37, and conveyed to the shelf 25 along with the pallet 20 so as to be housed in it.
