PURPOSE: To illuminate the hoistway of a floor when a worker enters a car and improve workability by lighting the lighting means of the floor when the landing door of an optional floor is opened while the operation mode of the discriminated elevator is set to the manual mode.

CONSTITUTION: When a worker stops a car on the uppermost floor (third floor) and switches the operation mode to the manual mode, for example, a relay contact point B2 is tuned on, and relay contact points A1-A3 are turned on. Landing doors of all floors are closed at this time, relay contact points D1-D3 are kept on, and lighting lamps L1-L3 are tuned off. The worker temporarily goes to a machine room, gradually lowers a car via a manual action, then returns to the uppermost floor. When the worker unlocks to open the landing door, the relay contact point D3 is tuned off, and the lighting lamp L3 is lighted. The lighting lamp L3 on the hoistway of the uppermost floor is lighted, and the worker can easily turn on a work lamp.
