To provide an elevator that enables a passenger to operate a car operating panel without hesitation to improve convenience, in the elevator capable of switching the operation ranges of a car.
In the elevator, only a destination floor designation part corresponding to a floor where the car stops is displayed on a display means (operating panel in the car) disposed in the car. Thereby, when the operation range is switched so as to be elevated, for example, between "platform floor" and "ticket gate floor", the destination floor designation part corresponding to "ground floor" is not displayed on the display means. Further, it is also possible that the destination floor designation part corresponding to "platform floor" is not displayed for a passenger who rides in the car from "platform floor". Accordingly, the passenger who rides in the car can operate the destination floor designation part of the display means without hesitation irrespective of the operation range.
