PURPOSE: To improve safety and reliability by reducing the angle of the peripheral groove of a hoisting drum and the delivery angle of a suspending rope, keeping them nearly constant, and preventing the friction between the peripheral groove and the suspending rope.

CONSTITUTION: An overhead sheave 8 is provided at the upper section of the hoistway 1 of an elevator, the suspending rope 6e of a drum type hoist 6 is wound on the overhead sheave 8, and only a car 7 is tied to the suspending rope 6e. A pair of cross beam members 2 are provided near the hoistway 1, and a pair of intermediate members 10 are provided on both cross beam members 2 astride them. Adjusting holes are bored at end sections of both intermediate members 10, a hoist bed 12 is rotatably mounted on both intermediate members 10, and it is fixed by fitting members 15 having vibration control materials 14 and inserted into the adjusting holes.
