PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel embedded magnet motor capable of suppressing increase in the material cost, and to provide a traction machine for elevator using the embedded magnet motor, an elevator using the traction machine for elevator, and an in-wheel motor device using the embedded magnet motor.SOLUTION: A magnetic pole assembly is constituted by arranging a segment magnet, respectively, between adjoining magnetic pole pieces of a plurality of magnetic pole pieces arranged annularly; an annular fixing ring made of a nonmagnetic metal material having a radial length shorter than that of the magnetic pole piece is arranged in an annular region where the magnetic pole pieces on the opposite side surfaces of the magnetic pole assembly and the segment magnet are located; and the fixing ring sandwiching the magnetic pole piece by coupling members made of a nonmagnetic metal material is coupled with a rotated member via a cavity of a predetermined length. The amount of the nonmagnetic metal material used can be reduced by reducing the area of the fixing ring, and increase in the material cost can be suppressed. Furthermore, since the side face and the inner peripheral surface or outer peripheral surface of the magnetic pole piece are air layers, magnetic leakage flux can be reduced, and a torque can be obtained efficiently.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
