Title:
EMBEDDING ARTIFICIAL HEART
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH025966
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To drastically reduce a pericardial cavity size and to facilitate the heat exchange between driving members and a lung by forming a second thin film which comes into contact with the blood of a biological floating thin film which is moved between its diastolic phase position and systolic phase position by the pressure of the blood by the effect of the first thin film between the systolic phase position and the diastolic phase position. CONSTITUTION: A chamber 9 is divided to two; a biological chamber 9a and a mechanical chamber 9b. The boundary between these two chambers 9a, 9b comprises the biological thin film 10 which is movable and is adaptable to the living body. An intermediate free space 12 housing fluid exists between the biological thin film 10 and the mechanical thin film 11. The pressure of the fluid is maintained at a value slightly lower or equal to the priming pressure of the left part or right part of the heat in the diastolic phase. The mechanical thin film 11 is activated by an electromechanical part 12 via working fluid 14 housed in a vessel. This vessel consists of a module 1, electromechanical parts 2, 2' and a deformable watertight bag-like body 15 enclosing control parts. As a result, the noise of the mechanical parts is lowered and the heat exchange is promoted.
