Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent obstruction to a blood capillary when a part of an embolus piece flows in the downstream of a blood vessel by finely granulating the embolus piece by rotation of a file part by flowing the eliminated embolus piece in a space between a housing and the file part through grooves arranged in a conical part and a diametrically contracted part. CONSTITUTION: A rigid head 1 is composed of a drill-shaped conical part 11 whose tip is chamfered, a columnar diametrically contracted part 12 whose diameter is contracted, a columnar file part 13 and a guide part 14. A spiral groove 15 is arranged in the conical part 11, and the groove 15 is connected to a groove 16 of the diametrically contracted part 12, and a groove 17 is also arranged in the guide part 14. A hard embolus is eliminated by a drill-shaped tooth surface of the conical part 11, and an eliminated piece of the embolus is made to flow in a space between the file part 13 and a housing 3 through the grooves 15 and 16 by a suction means arranged on the base end side of a balloon catheter 4, and is finely granulated by rotation of the file part 13. Therefore, flowing resistance in a lumen of the catheter 4 reduces, and particulates are discharged outside the body together with blood through the groove 17 of the guide part 14 and the inside of the lumen, and a pair of the eliminated piece of the embolus does not flow in a downstream blood vessel.
