PURPOSE: To form patterns which are visible in embossed and to change the patterns iridescently according to viewing directions by arranging magnetic material powder in the perpendicular direction in the central part of the pattern parts of a coating film and in the outward radiation direction in parallel with the surface in the peripheral edge part and forming the coating film in such a manner that the embossed iridescent patterns exist over the entire surface of the coating film or in an arbitrary part on the outer side.

CONSTITUTION: A coating material contg. the magnetic material powder 5 is applied on a steel sheet, aluminum sheet, stainless steel sheet or plastic molding 1, with which the coating film 2 is formed. The magnetic material powder 5 in this coating film 2 is regularly arranged in the direction perpendicular to the surface of the coating film in the central part of the pattern parts of the coating film 2 and is regularly arranged in the outward radiation direction in parallel with the surface in the peripheral edge part. The magnetic material powder is irregularly arranged by gradually losing the regularity of its arrangement on the outer side. The coating film 2 is thereby so formed that a part or the whole of the formed embossed iridescent patterns exists over the entire surface or in the arbitrary part of the coating film 2.
