PURPOSE: To make a crossover between blocks of embroidery pattern easy to remove by a sewer after sewing.

CONSTITUTION: A figure data storage part 1 stores figure data read by a figure reading device from an original figure pattern. An upper end position and a lower end position detecting part 3 and 4 detects an upper end position and a lower end position of the figure block in the figure data storage part 1. An embroidery data preparing part 6 prepares embroidery data from the figure data. Position data of a terminal point of the figure block is obtained by conversion by the embroidery data preparing part 6. Position data of an upper end and a lower end is obtained by the upper end position and the lower end position detecting parts 3 and 4. Based on the both position data, a jump stitch data preparing part 8 adopts as a jump stitch data an end point having a longer distance between the terminal point and the upper end, and the terminal point and the lower end.
