Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an emergency braking device for a passenger conveyor which can perform engagement between a ratchet pawl and a tooth part more surely.SOLUTION: An emergency braking device includes: a ratchet wheel 31 which is provided coaxially with a main shaft side drive sprocket 22, which has a plurality of tooth parts 311 in the periphery, and which rotates together with the main shaft side drive sprocket 22; and a ratchet pawl 33A which displaces between an engagement position for being engaged with the tooth part 311, and a retreat position for being separated from the tooth part to the radially outside. At the ratchet pawl 33A, a recess part 331 is formed in which the tooth part 311 is inserted so as to sandwich the tooth part 311 in a thickness direction in the case where the position of the ratchet pawl 33A is in the engagement position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
