To provide an emergency shutdown valve easily fitted to an existing pipeline by providing a valve case with a fluid pressure takeoff part to a pressure chamber of a cylinder, and connecting the luid pressure takeoff part to the pressure chamber by a pilot line.
In an emergency shutdown valve, a valve element is provided at a valve stem 2 horizontally piercing a valve case 1, and a valve element resetting device is provided on one side of the valve stem 2 protruded from the valve case 1, while a cutoff device 5 is provided on the other side of the valve stem 2. Both side openings of the valve case 1 are connected to a fluid pipeline. A pilot line 18 for leading in a fluid from a primary side fluid pressure takeoff part of the valve case 1 is provided in a pressure chamber 16a of a cylinder 16. The pilot line 18 is provided with a water hammer absorber 19 for absorbing the fluctuation of fluid pressure caused by water hammer or the like, and a spring 17 is provided with a resilience adjusting means 20 for adjusting the resilience of the spring 17. An arm 12 is provided with a damper 21 for controlling the speed of closing the valve element 3, and the rotating center part of the arm 12 is provided with an opening indicator 12a for indicating the opening of the valve element 3.
