Title:
EMERGENCY SUPPLY STORAGE SHED SERVING ALSO AS GATEPOST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3430350
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make a gatepost function as a safe emergency-supplies storage shed for disasters such as earthquakes by forming a heat insulating layer inside an outer shell consisting of a top covered, tubular gatepost erected away from a housed and noncombustible materials.
CONSTITUTION: A heat insulating layer 4, in which emergency supplies are surrounded by a heat insulating material such as a high-water-absorption polymer, is formed inside a top covered, tubular gatepost 1 erected away from a house. Noncombustible materials such as concrete blocks and stones are stacked on the outer surface of a heat insulating layer 4 to form an outer shell 3. An opening 7 for taking out and putting in the emergency supplies is provided through the outer shell 3 and the heat insulating layer 4, and a door 8 made from reinforced glass which closes the opening 7 at a position inside the outer surface of the outer shell 3 is provided. Further, a handle 12 in which a projecting piece 13 causing stress concentration is formed is provided at a part of the door 8. Thus the gatepost 1 can be made to normally serve its proper purpose, and in a disaster such as an earthquake, it can be made to function as an emergency-supplies storage shed that allows promptly taking out the emergency supplies and ensures safety.
