Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable operation of a trolley bus even upon trouble of VVVF drive inverter thereof, by rotating a synchronous generator and an auxiliary generator through a Diesel engine and providing the output from the auxiliary generator through an excitation inverter to the rotor winding of the synchronous generator. CONSTITUTION:DC voltage is fed from a stringing feeder through a drive inverter 4 to an induction motor 5. When power is interrupted and the drive inverter 4 is faulty, switches 2, 15 are switched. A synchronous generator 7 and an auxiliary generator 8 are driven through a Diesel engine 6, and the output from the auxiliary generator 8 is fed through an exciting voltage regulator 12, an exciting inverter 13 and a slip ring 13 to the rotor winding of the synchronous generator 7. By such arrangement, a trolley bus can be run even when the inverter is faulty.
