A television receiver system 1 is provided with a television receiver 100 for receiving a broadcast signal that can include a video signal, a sound signal and further an emergency warning signal and outputting video and sound based on the video signal and the sound signal included in the broadcast signal, and a remote controller 200 that can receive a signal transmitted from the television receiver 100. The television receiver 100 outputs a warning notification signal representing that an emergency warning signal is included in a broadcast signal when a received broadcast signal includes the emergency warning signal. The remote controller 200 receives the warning notification signal outputted from the television receiver 100 and notifies a user that the emergency warning signal has been emitted. The television receiver 100 and the remote controller 200 transmit and receive the warning notification signal by radio communication using radio waves of a prescribed frequency.
