PURPOSE: To provide an RFI/EMI shielding gasket which is low in cost, can be simply prepd. and applied, and is of a metal-coated plastic finger stock type.
CONSTITUTION: This EMI shielding gasket is an electrically conductive gasket comprising a plastic substrate layer and a metal layer formed on at least one surface of the gasket. The gasket is formed in a form such that it has an attachment portion and a contact portion. Pref., the gasket is an EMI/RFI shielding gasket having a plurality of fingers extending outwardly from a center portion such that the metal layer of the gasket establishes an electrical connection between two substrate layers which require RFI/EMI shielding. The drawing is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the gasket wherein the gasket is partially compressed between two mutually relatively movable substrate layers 1, 2.
