Abstract:

To provide an emission control device and a control device for an internal combustion engine, for suppressing an accumulated amount of ashes accumulated on a particulate filter and suppressing exhaust pressure loss in the particulate filter.

The emission control device 100 comprises: the particulate filter 110 including ceramic structure having a cell partition wall 111 trapping PM in exhaust, and an oxidation catalyst (Pt); a first exhaust pressure sensor 120 measuring upstream exhaust pressure P1; a second exhaust pressure sensor 130 measuring downstream exhaust pressure P2; and a fuel supply device 140. Calculation of differential pressure ΔP=P1-P2 is performed. When it is determined that the ΔP reaches preset reference differential pressure ΔPs, fuel is added by the fuel supply device 140 to start regeneration of the particulate filter 110. The reference differential pressure ΔPs is set to a value not more than differential pressure (10 kPa) generated when a PM deposition amount of the particulate filter 110 becomes 1 g/m2.
