Abstract:
PURPOSE: To efficiently realize the emitting capacity recovery processing to a plurality of recording heads without uselessly consuming ink and to certainly avoid the generation of printing obstruction due to capping operation.
CONSTITUTION: In an emitting capacity recovery control means 11, a capping control means 10 allowing the ink suction passage 5 of a cap 3 corresponding to a recording head 1 to be capped by a passage communication blocking means 7 to communicate and covering the nozzle surface 2 of the recording head 1 to be capped with the cap 3 by a cap opening and closing driving means 4 in such a state that an atmosphere opening passage 8 is opened by an atomosphere opening blocking means 9 is provided. In such a state that the nozzle surface 2 of the recording head 1 to be capped is covered by the capping control means NO, the atmosphere opening passage 8 is blocked by the atmosphere opening blocking means 9 and the ink suction passage 5 corresponding to the recording head 1 other than an emitting capacity recovery processing object is cut off by a passage communication cutting-off means 7 and the suction driving due to a negative pressure suction means 6 is executed.
