Abstract:

To provide an emulsified fuel diesel engine capable of sortening time until the engine stops after formation of emulsified fuel stops and with less NOx discharge as the sum total.

This emulsified fuel diesel engine is furnished with a return piping 17 to return excessive emulsified fuel to the upstream side of a mixer 12 of a fuel piping 8 from an engine main body 1, and a by-pass piping 18 is connected to the middle of the return piping 17 free to be changed over by a three-way change-over valve 20. When a computer 25 receives an emulsified fuel OFF signal S1, moisture is forcibly removed by an oil-water separator 21 by stopping formation of the emulsified fuel by stopping supply of water to the mixer 12, changing the three-way change-over valve 20 and introducing the excessive emulsified fuel to the by-pass piping 18. Consequently, it is possible to remove moisture from the excessive emulsified fuel in a short period of time, free to stop the diesel engine in a short period of time, free to carry out emulsified fuel driving until immediately before stopping the engine and accordingly, to reduce discharge of NOx as the sum total.
