Abstract:
To provide an emulsion polymer compsn. for an impregnated paper which is suitable for an impregnated paper possessing excellent tensile strength in a dry state, tensile strength in a wet state, and folding endurance and, in addition, possesses gum-up resistance superior to the conventional emulsion.
This emulsion polymer compsn. for an impregnated paper is prepd. by emulsion polymn. of a radical-polymerizable monomer mixture comprising 0.1 to 10wt.% N-methylol(meth)acrylamide, 0.1 to 30wt.% (meth)acrylamide, and 0.1 to 10wt.% itaconic acid in the presence of a nonionic emulsifier and/or an anionic emulsifier.
