PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encapsulant improved in volume resistivity without sacrificing transparency, crosslinkability and flexibility of the encapsulant.SOLUTION: An encapsulant for a solar cell has a layer A containing a polyolefin resin A (referred to as resin A in the following) and a modified polyolefin resin B (referred to as resin B in the following) formed by copolymerization with a compound of the general formula (I). In the formula (I), X represents O or NR, where R represents hydrogen, an alkyl group, or an aryl group.
