Abstract:

To provide a satisfactory magnet bearing even in a corrosion environment.

An encapsulated magnet assembly includes: a magnet 158 disposed within a housing that includes at least one wall 164 and defines at least one aperture; and a housing cover. The housing cover includes a first portion 154 made of a magnetic material and a second portion 152 made of a non-magnetic material, wherein the housing cover is configured to hermetically seal the aperture, the first portion being fixed and attached to the second portion wherein a point of attachment is heat treated; and wherein the housing wall 164 is formed of the non-magnetic material and is fixed and attached to the second portion of the housing cover.
