To provide an encryption processing apparatus for a limited reception system which can be efficiently applied to a network on which a transport stream is made into an IP packet and transmitted.
An encryption processing apparatus comprises: a receiving section 101 for receiving an IP packet from a transmission line; a separation section 102 for separating the header information of the IP packet and a TS packet disposed in a payload; a memory 103 for temporarily storing the header information; an encryption section 104 for performing encryption processing upon a desired TS packet; an IP processing section 105 for making the TS packet processed by the encryption section 104 into the IP packet; and a transmission section 106 for transmitting the IP packet to the transmission line. Inputted IP header information is used as it is to reconfigure an IP packet to be outputted, so that the IP packet can be introduced without affecting an IP network configuration and only a desired TS packet disposed in the payload of the IP packet can be encrypted.
