Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect an end face regardless of the fluctuations of the reflectance and the transmittance of an object to be detected, in either of a reflection-type or a transmission-type sensor.
SOLUTION: Light from a light emitting means 1 is emitted to the surface of an object P to be detected. This light is condensed into a linear shape with a specified width L in parallel with the end face of the object P at the conveyance position of the object P. The object P is conveyed to move in the A direction reaching a light condensing position part, when a detection signal rises sharply in a light receiving means 2 and thus a position for the end face is accurately detected. At the same time, the obtained detection signal is stable as a light condensing point is as wide L as specified.
