PURPOSE: To provide an end tab for welding which can be easily, quickly and inexpensively attached by forming a blank material for constituting a clay-like tab by adding water, etc. to a granular flux, sticking the tab to the beginning and end parts of a weld line and forming the same so as to conform to the shape of a groove.

CONSTITUTION: Water or liquid such as sodium silicate is added to a granular flux and the mixture is kneaded to form a blank material for constituting a clay-like tab. A proper amt. of such material for constituting tab is stuck at the beginning and end parts 3 of the weld line of steel materials 1, 1' to be welded and is formed to conform to the groove shape 2 in the weld zone, thereby forming an end tab 4. The good weld zone is thus obtd. over the entire width of the materials 1, 1'.
