PURPOSE: To easily and surely stack rolls packaged with an end wall onto a pallet so as to increase the strength of the end wall by providing on the front side of a plate an annular attachment surrounding a plug-in peg, and making the outside diameter of the annular attachment smaller than the length of the edge region of the end wall and the diameter of the wound roll.
CONSTITUTION: This end wall 1 has a square plate 11 where locking lugs 4 having lug projections 16 are disposed on the four corners thereof. Stacking lugs 9, 19 differing in length and cross section from one another are provided on three side walls 13 of the plate 11 of the end wall 1 and a corrugation 31 is provided on the fourth side wall 30. The front side of the end wall facing a wound roll has an annular attachment 35 protecting the ends of the wound roll and surrounding a central plug-in peg 2. The outside diameter (d) of the annular attachment 35 is smaller than the length of the edge of the end wall 1 and the diameter D of the wound roll 27. Thus, contact and compression between the edge region of the wound roll 27 and the end wall 1 are avoided and stacking of the rolls packaged by the end wall 1 will not be hindered.
