Title:
ENDERMIC DISCECTOMY METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0647058
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable to safely and effectively perform a percutaneous resection of intervertebral disk in one using laser, by successively irradiating a laser beam to an intervertebral disk area, where a hernia is suffered along two different lines. CONSTITUTION: In a percutaneous intervertebral disk resection surgery using laser, it is preferable to use a C-arm type fluoroscopy apparatus which has gained in brightness of a picture and to insert the front end part of a probe 100 into an intervertebral disk area 18c which is damaged, that is, where a hernia is suffered, by local limitation and guidance by radiation. This insertion is continued until the front end of the probe 100 pierces through a fiber ring of an intervertebral disk 18b. Then, a cannula and an expander are fitted over this probe 100, and after the cannula is inserted into the intervertebral disk area 18c, a laser beam is applied along a first line by an optical guide means. Also, subsequently, the laser beam is applied along a second line different from the first line (at an angle or parallel to the first line) to perform the percutaneous intervertebral disk resection.
