Title:
ENDLESS BELT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE BELT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001162691
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an intermediate transfer belt for an imaging device which shows a uniform resistance in the direction of a coating film thickness and the capability of producing an image of high quality level for a long time.

First a dispersion composed of a crystalline thermoplastic resin and a resistance controlling agent dispersed is applied to the surface of a molding die and the coating film is dried by heating from the back side of the molding die. Thus the endless belt, best suited for the intermediate transfer belt, in which the resistance controlling agent is uniformly dispersed in the crystalline thermoplastic resin. In the actual practice case, a coating liquid composed of a polyvinylidene fluoride and a carbon black (the resistance controlling agent) dispersed in a methyl ethyl ketone (a solvent) is prepared, and the coating film is formed on the surface of an application mold made of aluminum by a dipping process. Further, a heater is inserted into the application mold and the solvent is thermally dried to form the coating film and further, the coating film is peeled off the application mold to obtain the intermediate transfer belt.
