Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an easily-replaceable endless drive track with little noise and wear, used for a heavy-duty endless tracked vehicle such as a bulldozer or tank.

CONSTITUTION: This endless drive track comprises a drive belt 13, two parallel closely-spaced rail blocks 17, 18 adjacent to the drive belt, a plurality of drive pins 19 extending between the blocks of the opposed rail blocks, a supporting material 20 connecting the drive belt and the rail blocks, and a plurality of drive treads 21 adjacent to the drive belt. The rail blocks are of substantial Z-shape, and the front portion of one rail block is offset from the rear portion of the adjacent rail block and overlaps it. The rail blocks, the drive pins, and the drive treads are made of a polymeric material which is harder than that of the drive belt.
