Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an item conveying device of simple structure allowing a conveying zone to be optionally shaped in a wide range and capable of shortening gaps at the beginning and forming gaps at the end.
CONSTITUTION: Conveying means 20 arranged interposing spring elements 64 designed exclusively for the transfer of compressive force circulate within an endless guide 18 of a conveying device 16. The conveying means 20 are driven at the beginning and end of an effective conveying zone 26 by independently controllable drive mechanisms 32, 32', and can be positioned. A controllable locking means 36 is provided in front of a driving means 34 to impede the driving of the conveying means 20 to seize a printing product even if there are gaps in the printing products placed in imbricated form. At a delivery point 28, the delivery of printing products may also be delayed by one or more cycles without stopping the driving means 34. The spring elements 64 allow a change in the number of conveying means 20 located between the drive mechanisms 32, 32'.
