PURPOSE: To prevent a movable part from exporsuring to an external part and to prevent the enlargement of the endoscope when an operating means is fitted by equipping the title endoscope device with a bendable bending part provided for an inserting part, a traction means for bending the bending part, and the operating means, etc.

CONSTITUTION: When a joy stick 201 is operated under a state in which motor units 15 and 16 are fixed to an operating part 8 for the endoscope, an ultrasonic motor driving circuit 12 drives the ultrasonic motor of the motor units 15 and 16. Thus, since either a pulley 32 or a pulley 33 rotates and pushes and pulls bending operating wires 30 and 31, a bending part 3 bends in a desired direction. Further, since the motor units 15 and 16 are freely attachable and detachable for the endoscope 1, the motor units 15 and 16 can be shared among plural endoscopes 1, and a cost can be reduced. Further, since the motor units 15 and 16 are replaced with a manual bending operating knob 41 and selectively connected to the endoscope 1, the endoscope is never enlarged more than needed when the motor units 15 and 16 are connected to the endoscope.
