PURPOSE: To operate an endoscope from a desired location, by installing the operating member of the endoscope to a location separated from the main body of the endoscope.

CONSTITUTION: With the endoscope device of the invention, observation can be made normally through an eyepiece section 8 and, at the same time, bending of and air and water conveyance to the bent pipe section 15 of an inserting section 3 can be performed by means of the switch 24 for bending operation, air-conveyance switch 35, and water-conveyance switch 36 of the operating section 2, respectively, when its display device 9 is not mounted. When the display device 9 is mounted, observation can be made through the parent side eyepiece section 11 and slave side eyepiece section 12, respectively. Moreover, the bending operation, air conveyance, and water conveyance can be made by means of the switch 51 for bending operation, air-conveyance switch 52, and water-conveyance switch 53, respectively.
