To provide an endoscope permitting assembly of bending operation wires to bending pieces of a bending section, and a method of manufacturing the bending section of the endoscope.
A plurality of bending pieces 22 are arranged in a line and rotatably connected to one another. Each bending piece 22 has wire insertion holes 32 for inserting the operating wires 33, a bending piece slit 41 which communicates with an inner lumen 31 of the bending piece 22 and through which the intermediate part of the operating wires 33 can be inserted from out of the bending piece 22, and operating wire storage part slits 42 which communicate with the inner lumen 31 of the bending piece 22 and the wire insertion holes 32 and through which the intermediate part of the operating wires 33 can be inserted and stored into the wire insertion holes 32 from the inner lumen 31 of the bending piece 22.
