To set a probe with a relatively large distal end part in a forceps channel regardless of the bending state of the forceps channel of an endoscope.

The endoscope system comprises the endoscope and the probe. The endoscope comprises: a first flexible tube to be inserted into the body cavity, a first distal end part attached at the distal end of the first flexible tube to enclose an observation system unit for observing the inside of the body cavity with a hard member and to hold the observation system; and the forceps channel with a first opening on the first front face of the distal end part and a second opening on the terminal side of the first flexible tube. The probe comprises: a second flexible tube to be inserted into the forceps channel; and a second distal end part to enclose a prescribed unit with a hard member and hold the prescribed unit. The endoscope system also has a stopper means in the forceps channel to prevent the second distal end part from entering the flexible part of the forceps channel covered with the first flexible tube when the probe is inserted into the forceps channel from the first opening.
