Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope that is heat-resistant and durable enough so that its fiber bundle is not broken even if environmental changes from room to high temperatures or vice versa are repeated. SOLUTION: This endoscope has a fiber bundle (image guide fiber 23, light guide fiber 31) passed through an inserted part and caps 24, 32 covering the outer periphery of the end of the fiber bundle, with axial slits 28, 35 provided in the caps 24, 32 so that when the bores of the caps 24, 32 are increased, restoring forces are produced in a direction for contracting the bores, with the result that the fiber bundle can be secured to the caps by the restoring forces without use of an adhesive.
