PURPOSE: To provide an endoscope with superior operability capable of surely performing a bending operation at every node in the endoscope comprised by connecting plural links on each of which bending control can be performed independently and in which wire for bending driving to perform an independent bending operation at every link is provided.
CONSTITUTION: In the endoscope provided with an insertion part 1 in which the plural links 2a capable of performing the bending control independently are connected and in which the wires 3a, 3b,... for bending driving to perform the independent bending operation at each of the links 2a, 2b,... are provided, a generated driving force is set so that the driving force generated by the wires 3a, 3b,... for bending driving can be set higher at the insertion part provided at the links 2a, 2b,... on the root side than the one provided at the tip of the wires.
