Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for electrification of an electrofusion joint which can prevent occurrence of inferior quality owing to erroneous selection of a kind of a joint.SOLUTION: An electrification controller is a device for controlling electrification of a heating wire of an electrofusion joint. The electrification controller comprises: a kind-of-joint selecting function of reading a resistance value of the heating wire of the electrofusion joint before starting to electrify the electrofusion joint, and having one manually selected from a plurality of kinds of joints when the read resistance value is in a resistance value range of the plurality of kinds of joints; a basic control function of raising, by electrification, the resistance value of the heating wire to a target resistance value according to the kind of the joint selected by the kind-of-joint selecting function and then, keeping the target resistance value for a fixed length of time; and an erroneous selection determination function of stopping supply of electric power to the heating wire if the resistance value of the heating wire is out of a predetermined resistance value range at a sensing time point between the start of electrification of the heating wire by the basic control function and time when the resistance value of the heating wire reaches the target resistance value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
