Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an energy absorbing device which can exert excellent energy absorbing efficiency when a crewman comes into contact with the shoulder anchor of a seat belt.
CONSTITUTION: A shoulder anchor 11 has a metallic base member 15 fixed to a member on the side of a car body through an anchor bolt 14; and a synthetic resin anchor cover 20 having a shape covering the head 21 of the anchor bolt 14. A shock absorbing member 25 is accommodated in a space part formed of the inside of the anchor cover 20 and the head 21 of the anchor bolt 14. The anchor cover 20 is made of relatively soft resin such as soft vinyl chloride resin, and a shock absorbing member 25 is made of polyurethane or polystyrene foam.
